TDI Introductory Cave Diver
After successful completion of the TDI Cavern Diver course, divers may begin their TDI cave training. The TDI cave diving program is comprised of two training levels: Introductory Cave Diver and Full Cave Diver. The TDI Introductory Cave Diver course is an introduction to the basic principles of cave diving utilizing a single primary guideline.
Introductory cave diving directly builds upon the techniques and procedures introduced during the TDI Cavern Diver course. This introduction to cave diving is not intended to train divers for all facets of cave diving. The objective of this course is the perfection of skills taught in the cavern diving program, in addition to the adoption of additional techniques and procedures required for elementary cave dives.
Program limits :
- Cave dives with simple, one line only navigation
- Penetration limited to the Rule of Sixths for gas consumption
- No equipment removal
- Complete cave configuration
Special Required Equipment :
- Two DIN connection regulators, one with 2m10 long hose.
- Primary light and two backup lights
- Primary reel and backup reel
- Two cutting tools (recommended: one pair of scissors and one Z-knife)
- Line marker/cookie (1) and line arrows (3)
- Backup mask
- Deco buoy
- Wrist slate
Prerequisites :
- Minimum age : 18 years (or 15 years with parental autorisation)
- TDI Cavern Diver or equivalent
- Minimum Advanced Nitrox Diver and Deco procedures Diver or equivalent
- Strongly recommended: Entry Trimix Diver or higher level

- 5 days (theory, 7 dives)
- Combination course of TDI Cavern Diver + TDI Introductory Cave Diver : 6 days
